1. Ghana veterinary College, Tamale.

The College of Animal Health Production was established by the British Colonial Administration in 1922. And he is in Tamale.
It is the only veterinary college in Ghana. It is managed by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The mission of the institute is to train veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and specialists in the veterinary laboratory to improve the production of livestock in the country.

The vision of the college is to turn the college into a university by 2016, as well aslaunchg a graduate program in veterinary nursing.

2. Kwadaso Agricultural College, Kwadaso

Kwadaso Agricultural College was founded in 1922 in the city of Kumasi. Its facilities were supplied by Cadbury and Fry, who were the main buyers of cocoa at the then Gold Coast.

The college was established to initially train young cocoa producers out of school. On the need to increase the food production of soldiers and civil society due to the Second World War, 1946.

The institute was expanded to allow high school graduates to study general agriculture. The students were employed as reference points or agricultural assistants by the then Department of Agriculture.

1948 The Department of Agriculture purchased the land of the Agricultural Central Station from Asantehene for agricultural research and training.

The facilities have been designed for soil and crop research and training.

3. College of Animal Health and Production, Pong-Tamale

The college was founded in 1922, In Tamale, northern Ghana by the British colonial administration to improve animal health on the then Gold Coast. Unfortunately, in 1925. The school was closed due to a lack of funds. In 1960, the college was rebuilt in Pong-Tamale and reopened. The Pong-Tamale Agric college is the best choice.

 

4. Damongo Agricultural College, Damongo Information.

Damongo Agricultural College was first founded in 1963. Founded by three governments; The Government of Canada, the Government of Ghana, and the Government of Germany.

Looking back, the school was called Damongo Farm Institute and was started by eleven (11) male students. They offered courses such as mathematics, English, agricultural mechanization, and animal husbandry. The aim was to train farmers and provide them with agricultural equipment to improve food production in the region.

However,beforeo its founding in 1953, it was planned to involve all interested farmers in the three northern regions in group farming in Damongo City, Western Gonja District, so the initiation was modified to train farmers to become officers on the field.

1995 The name of the institute was changed to Damong Agricultural College, but the school was still fully run by the Ghanaian government.
